On March 18, Dan Barker debated Christian apologist Nick Peters on the topic “Does God Exist?” at the University of North Georgia in Gainesville. The event was organized by The Atheist Nighthawks (a chapter of the Secular Student Alliance) and co-sponsored by Baptist Christian Ministries. There were nearly 200 people in the audience, including many FFRF supporters. The organizer told Barker it was the largest event on campus he could remember. Thanks to the Secular Student Alliance (President David Peyton) for organizing such a successful event in a religion-drenched part of the country.”
