Daniel C. Dennett, an honorary FFRF director, “meets” Charles Darwin, FFRF’s life-size, life-like silicone mannequin, created by artist Csam Wheatley, which resides in the Joel B. Landon & Wanda Y. Beers Freethought Library at Freethought Hall in Madison, Wis. Dennett, the eminent atheist, author and Austin B. Fletcher Professor of Philosophy at Tufts University, was in town on April 4 to tape a future episode of FFRF’s “Freethought Matters” talk show. Then he headed to Lawrence University in Appleton, Wis., to enjoy a live orchestral performance of “Alarm Will Sound,” a unique “atheist oratorio” composed by FFRF Member Scott Johnson, ingeniously putting to music Dennett’s recorded words and ideas about evolution and religion.
Member Arelis van Breda of Tennessee sent us a photo of this marquee from this church in Dayton, Tenn. Van Breda writes: “You can’t make this stuff up.”

Sue Schuetz send us this church marquee from Arena, Wis. The sign reads, “The fellowship of his suffering. Everyone welcome.” Seems about right.
