It was produced by the “Rights and Religions Forum,” a nonprofit co-founded by Haider, Schwartz and Bontrager.

The Women of Color Beyond Belief conference, which took place in early October in Chicago, included organizers Sikivu Hutchinson, author and activist with Black Skeptics Los Angeles; Liz Moss, also with BSLA; and Mandisa Thomas, president and founder of Black Nonbelievers. Not pictured is Bridgett “Bria” Crutchfield, who, with Mandisa and Sikivu, was a major organizer. The WOCBB conference was the first secular forum focused exclusively on the perspectives and work of women of color who are atheists, agnostics, humanists, freethinkers and skeptics. The Freedom From Religion Foundation was proudly the largest financial co-sponsor of the two-and-a-half-day event, which included a diversity of topics and breakout sessions covering issues such as secular parenting, reproductive rights and secular organizing.
