In memoriam: Paul Heffron co-founded HumanistsMN

Longtime FFRF Member Paul Allen Heffron, co-founder of HumanistsMN, died Sept. 27 at the age of 88 in Shoreview, Minn.

He was born March 3, 1937, in Yankton, S.D., and attended St. Paul Central High School there. He was a former camp counselor at Camp St. Croix, a 1959 graduate of Yankton College and graduate of Andover Newton Theological Seminary in 1963.

He worked as an assistant minister at United Church of Christ in Greenfield Mass., from 1963–64 and minister in Wauseon, Ohio, from 1965–67.

Paul was also a professional musician and lifetime member of the Twin Cities Musician Union. He was involved in the founding of the HumanistsMN, which began Dec. 27, 2000.
