In memoriam: Lanny Peissig enjoyed woodworking, fishing

Lifetime member Lanny Robert Peissig, 83, of Medford, died June 30 at his home while under the care of Hope Hospice.
Lanny was born Sept. 21, 1942, in Baraboo, Wis., to Alfred and Ruth (Holliday) Peissig. When Lanny was young, his family moved to Rib Lake, where he attended Rib Lake schools.
On June 20, 1964, Lanny married Sharon Kautzer at Trinity Lutheran Church in Whittlesey. They lived in Milwaukee for a short time, where Lanny worked at Briggs & Stratton before returning to the Medford area. He worked at Weather Shield for some years and then worked at Tombstone for 30 years, retiring in 2003.
Lanny enjoyed woodworking, especially building furniture and other treasured pieces for friends and family. He looked forward to his annual fishing trips to Canada with his friends and cherished the many road trips he and Sharon took together exploring different states.
His son, Todd, is an FFRF Board member.
